Excuses, Excuses

So I've been working on quite a few new projects, and even have several things to put up in the Etsy shop. But you know what's holding me up? Labels. Yes, labels. I can't find waterproof labels for the bath products, but since I don't have a printer at home, the point is almost moot.

Whatever. It's a dumbass, lazy excuse. I think I've stumbled upon a temporary solution, but it still involves needing a printer. Unless people think hand-written labels show a more "personal" touch! Maybe I'll just sneak into the office after-hours and use the equipment.

Since I'm suffering from an as-yet-unexplained case of swelling ankles and need to rest with my feet propped up, I'll see if I can't get some pictures posted to the blog that show what I've been up to. Unless I decide to take a nap. It's hard to get motivated to do anything when you're flat on your back. (Does that fall into the dumbass, lazy excuse category as well?)

Is This Thing On?

Okay, it's been a long while since I made any updates. Here's hoping there's more to come soon. I just got some delicious new scents from Brambleberry.com and am trying to decide what projects to use them on!

It's probably a good thing the scents aren't edible. The Buttercream and Snickerdoodle smells fattening! LOL!

When Life Hands You Limes, Make Soap!

I spent the evening testing out some new scents and working on some new recipes. Here's the results:

Some basic M&P, uncolored, but testing the Lime Cilantro scent from Soaper Supply.

Nice citrusy scent, but I think I'll let the soap age for a while and see what happens.

A bit of a mess-up with this cinnamon soap. The glycerin base was too hot when I poured it into the mold, so the cinnamon settled to the bottom. Probably should have used a base with better suspension anyway. Might have to melt it down and try again. Smells good, though.

Here's my own version of chocolate sugar scrub. I whipped it up using sugar, cocoa and shealoe butter. Can't wait to try it out!

And don't you just love these little 8oz. canning jars? So cute!

Welcome!

This blog is an offshoot of my first--30-Something With Cats and is meant to house my opinions and results of soap-making. There will be product reviews of things I find interesting, as well. But if you're looking for stories about bowling and the cats, head back over to the other blog.

It might take me some time to get this blog set up the way I want it, so be patient!
